Bin Laden attacked first, and our first response should have been an immediate attack on the hills of Afghanistan - and a hunt for the terrorists by agents.

The Iraqi war was a mistake - but it probably would not have come about if 9/11 had not happened. Bin laden does not care who gets killed, as long as there is a holy war with the infidel. HIs idea is that the world would be better off being destroyed, so that allah can try again, but this time with islamic rule for everyone.
