Edit: by the way, dont be too hasty to throw out a plant that looks as if it is a male. When a female starts to develop pistils, there will be little sacks on the internodes that may look like male flowers. Wait about a week when they start to show their sex.
Dont worry about pollination - it will take a lot longer than a week for a male to produce and release its pollen. Not sure how long though - my guess would be a month.
