    Infestation/Mites

    Hey All!
Plants are about 35 days into flowering and were doing nicely until....MITES! There were a bunch of leaves that were doing badly and it quickly spread. I was forced to cut off many leaves and the problem continued. I have been using a spray that kills them but does not kill their eggs. Its the only spray that I could find that was safe for plants that you might eat. So, they are gone but I am sure whatever eggs they have made will soon hatch. This spray and most others that are safe for plants like ours don't kill the eggs (at least the ones that I could find). Anyone have any tips or advice?
    Thanks!

just happened to me also, once their in its almost impossible to get rid of them that far into flowering. I bought the same type of spray and it only works if it makes direct contact, also I've noticed it kills all the pistils. Anyway I had better luck sitting there for hours killing the mites and their eggs with some wet paper towels by hand. It was enough to still get a decent harvest. Next time, NO mites

Try soapy water , it,s a good remedy if you can get all the leaves .
It drys leaving the mites trapped in the thin film of soap left behind.

Tetra if you put your plants back under your lights after spraying it would scorch the pistils.
So always spray your plants before they go to sleep.(light off)
It,s good to give em a second treatmeant a week later even if you can,t see any mites.

if you have a tank-type vacumn cleaner you can suck off most of the critters easily and without spraying anything on your nearly finished flowers. just place the nozzle near the flowers with fingers covering the end (or place a piece of screen, anything to keep from sucking in plant matter) and carefully move nozzle around and under leaves(easiest with 2 people). when done squirt a little bug spray into the nozzle (use something strong, like raid or black flag...ya don't want em crawling out of the tank) then put away for a couple days. after a week or so of doing this every 2nd-3rd day you won't see them and there'll be no poisoness residue on your flowers...
