I'm just wondering why there's such a big fuss about smoking pot and driving afterwards... Hell, I often smoke while driving with some friends. One of them always borrows his dad's really expensive BMW with which we go flying among the other traffic. Guy even tells me he feels great about driving under the influence, helps him focus on the road (which at this point was becoming narrow bumpy, and approaching 120 km/h).
Why even bother creating a cop test for it if it has this little influence? Heck, people who can't drive oughta be given a smoking doobie!
So I think driving and smoking goes hand in hand and howd'ya like that? (works better than attaching wings to your car, I promise)dop Reviewed by dop on . Drunk driving stupid. Stoned driving how ever is better because you do have much more cocentration on the road, and your so paranoid you'll get caught that you dont speed or flout any laws. Driving stoned is good, a bit like a dream.

I have no problem with driving stoned, but I hate people who claim to be "good drunk drivers". THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "GOOD DRUNK DRIVER". If you're drunk, your reflexes and comprehension decrease very significantly, and maybe you can still stop at stop signs and lights, and not swerve too much, but if a collision is imminent you're not going to be able to do a damn thing about it. Why? 'Cause you're fuckin' drunk!

To be honest anyone who thinks it's ok to drive whilst under the influence of alcohol or cannabis is at serious risk of ending up in a mortuary.
All drugs alter the most important things that you need when you are behind the wheel of a ton or more of moving metal, speed and time perception are affected as anyone who has "spaced" will tell you. I do not believe that people drive better stoned or drunk even though they themselves may, tell me how that is possible if your senses can't be trusted?
Unfortunately the reality is simply that people die because of drunk drivers and drugged up ones too.
A huge proportion of drivers killed on our roads are young â?? one in four car drivers who die behind the wheel are under 25, despite this age group accounting for just one in fifteen car licence-holders. Last year, road deaths overall fell by 8%, yet deaths among 16-19 year-old drivers and passengers rose by 12%.
The survey results come just days after a coroner branded drivers who have smoked cannabis as even more dangerous than drunk-drivers, while speaking at the inquest of a four year-old who was killed by a 19 year-old driver who had smoked cannabis. Isabella Hill died after Barnaby Pearce crashed into her grandfatherâ??s car at nearly 80mph â?? he had smoked two joints earlier that day. The coroner pointed out that cannabis distorts a driverâ??s perception of speed and their ability to react.
A study carried out on behalf of the Government shows driving on illegal drugs has increased massively over past decades and is now endemic in our society â?? 18% of drivers who died behind the wheel 1996-2000 had illegal drugs in their system, compared to 3% during the period 1985-1988. The latest figures from the study are due to be released later this year.
Argue if you wish but IT HAPPENS.
Alcohol and Drug Use in Fatal Casualties
Illicit and Medicinal Drugs Only 17.2%
Drugs and Alcohol (over the legal limit) 4.1%
Drugs and Alcohol (under the legal limit) 2.7%
Alcohol Only (over the legal limit) 17.4%
Alcohol Only (under the legal limit) 7.3%
Alcohol Only (under the legal limit) 51.2%
Don't be the cause of someone elses death because when you get behind the wheel drugged up or drunk it isn't just your own life your playing with.
I know if a drunk driver killed a person I cared for they would have to find a very deep dark hole cause I wouldn't be responsible for what I would do to them.
Stay safe.

So what, driving on the freeway or at a high speed for a certain amount of time distorts your perception of speed once you get off.he coroner pointed out that cannabis distorts a driver?s perception of speed and their ability to react.

alcohol definitely distorts your perception alot more than weed. Theres always accidents involving someone being drunk. I rarely hear of someone driving stoned and ending up killing someone or getting into a wreck. Its always someone who is drunk off their ass. I mean just by my experience or even friends of mine... driving drunk or stoned theres a huge difference between the two. When I drove drunk I didn't have much of a care in the world and would drive fast and shit like that. But when I'm stoned its the total opposite, I follow the speed limit and am alert of my surroundings while relaxing at the same time and enjoying driving high. There is definitely more people getting killed by drunk drivers than people that are stoned.
