that's why, go early in the morning, 30-45 mins before the sun comes up... also helps if you know that the place you're going to fish, actually has fish, and people actually catch shit there.... ~remembers reading a story online of this dude trying to catch a fish, then learns that fish have to live in the water being fished, not that they just appear~

Best caught fish are from a mountain river, they taste the best. I prefer flies when fishing in river.

I guess i dont see it as being brutal. Its not like you gut em alive, you can either club them(lol) or cut their head off(not bad) first. I thought fish had alot less nerve endings??

I saw fish in the water but I guess they were the wise kind or the guy was using the wrong bait(maggots).I love early mornings when there is nobody about it's so peaceful.

Are you not supposed to have a fishing licence when you go fishing,or is that only to fish in certain areas?

its wise to have one just incase, most lakes require it, you can find out pretty easy. The best lakes dont require a lisence because their the ones you gotta hike 5-10 miles to get to.

Also certain lakes/rivers require you do not use a barbed hook, can get a fatty fine! But thats around here so i dont know where else, just be careful

You need a lisense around here unless it's your property, or unless you're under the age of 16. I prefer going out on a lake, or like on a river, but I've never been 'fly' fishing...sems like too much work, lol!

just a hook, no barb

the barb only makes sure that the hook doesnt slip out, so without the hook you have to keep a constant tension and fight him

With a barb you can let him swim out and then reel and then swim out and reel till he gets tired, lol, doesnt always work and sometimes they get off pretty easy but it makes the catch all the more exciting

I have to say i enjoy bass fishing the most, i wouldnt eat em but they are good fighters and they can get pretty fat

Yeah, I always use a barbed hook...I hate letting them get away, lol! Also, Bass is very tasty, much more so than say catfish, which I like, but eat rarley.

Blue gill, and crappie are the best, but trout's good, too. Although, I don't fish for trout vey often...

If I caught a fish I would have to put it back because I couldn't handle killing it.No i'm not a vegetarian and yes I probably would starve if I was lost in the wild lol
