    What is your first language? I believe that if you manage to master the English language, you'll be just fine in "ampserdam".:thumbsup:

    i'm guessing he's either high, a bad typer, or both. just look at the rest of the text. I'm actually trying to gain Duth citizenship since my father was born and raised in Holland. I hope to have an apartment there by next year if all goes well with my new website (see my signature). Most Europeans in general are fairly intelligent and can speak a fair amount of English. In Amsterdam specifically, most residents speak English because they're a very smart people. It wouldn't hurt to learn a little bit of Dutch so you "blend in" more and pick up cute Dutch girls too.

    There aren't dope vending machines (at least anywhere outside a coffeshop). Mainly because cannabis is still technically illegal in Holland. They just "ignore" it in place of arresting people for it. Cannabis sales are allowed in a limited number of cafes only (they had to exist when the government gave exemptions to current coffeshops to allow for the sale of up to 5 grams per customer, with a limit of how much total stock they can have at any one time). There are also what are called "smart shops" that sell things such as mushrooms and other legal substances. This is however learned from reading and watching a few good documentries about Holland and Amsterdam.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_nationality_law

    Naturalisation as a Dutch citizen
    An application for Dutch citizenship by naturalisation must meet all the conditions below:
    *aged 18 or over;
    * holder of a permanent resident permit;
    *5 continuous years residence in the Netherlands, the Dutch Antilles or Aruba with a valid residence permit. There are a number of exceptions to this rule.
    *sufficiently integrated in Dutch society and are able to read, write, speak and understand Dutch. This must normally be proved by taking a naturalisation test. Successful completion of an eligible integration course is an alternative.
    *in the four years preceding the application, the applicant has not been given any custodial sentence, training order, community service order or high monetary penalty.

    From what I hear it's very hard to get a job at a cafe unless you know the owner or something.
