I hope to have an apartment there by next year if all goes well with my new website (see my signature). Most Europeans in general are fairly intelligent and can speak a fair amount of English. In Amsterdam specifically, most residents speak English because they're a very smart people. It wouldn't hurt to learn a little bit of Dutch so you "blend in" more and pick up cute Dutch girls too.
