I'd just like to point out that the majority of soldiers didn't "sign up to fight the war in Iraq", they signed up for the ARMY and went to Iraq because that's what came up, and the majority of them are 18 year old KIDS fresh out of high school, who couldn't graduate, can't get into college, and have no where else to go. Ever see that special on TV? They had a hidden camera in a 1 on 1 army recruiting room, the kid said he didn't have a diploma and he had a drug problem; they hooked him up with a fake one and somethin' to get around the drug problem.
