    Question. about a light

A 400wMH should be enough to produce around 80% of the maximum yield that you can get from a single plant (depending on temperature, mylar, bugs, deficiencies etc).
Try putting the HPS at the side of the closet, for sidelighting. Youll get a few more grams because more light is getting to the lower buds. If you do this, make sure you turn it round 180 degrees every other day.

    Question. about a light

Lol thats a good point Mobay.
But BlueDragon, some ballasts can accomodate either a MH or HPS up to whatever wattage it is for.
Although I think he said that he already has a MH bulb (meaning he has a MH ballast aswell), and also a HPS ballast because he said 'bulb and all'.

But do you have a seperate ballast for each bulb?
Oh and by the way, you can use a HPS/MH (whichever takes your fancy) for vegging and flowering - you just wont get the same results as you would using two seperate bulbs. Though there is someone I know who grows occasionally, and he uses a 1000w HPS and a 400w HPS together and last time he grew (Christmas... I got many happy things that day, namely an ounce of organic) he got a good few pounds. Ill try and find out how many plants he grew and what strain. I know it was a sativa, I just dont know the specifics.
    Coulda been White Widow.

    Question. about a light

Yep a 400w will do fine, how many plants are you growing? A 400w HPS can do around 5-6 plants if youve got mylar, not sure on how much better/worse a MH is though.

If you use the HPS for lighting at the side during flowering, the buds will be a little denser and theyll grow a bit bigger aswell. You shouldnt have any heat probs with a 150 either, my 600w HPS doesnt actually produce that much heat.
    Unless you touch it.

    Nope.

Just use the two lights you have now. Using both combined will give you better results than using either one alone. I wouldn't spend the cash on a conversion when you have all the light you need already.
