Starting at a base line of what the plant likes, usualy takes about a year.
.5 or 1/2 grams per watt is very hard unless your scrog.
You also need to add time to the math. Pinching and trimming and even lighting to the plants.
Its to bad most new growers, do not know it , a real bitch to get the TOTAL system going.
Co2 works real bitchen if its automated to about 1500 ppm average. Thats why so many people spend the $1200 for a good system. With a 20-30 pot system it pays for itself in one crop.
You know you have it dialed in, but do not panic it may cost you a crop or two.
I must admit not much has changed over the last 30 years of growing, except for Al Gore internet.
grams/watts/month is where its at ,, otherwise its B.S.
Have fun and tell no one, when you get big never post.

oldsanclem Reviewed by oldsanclem on . cheap and easy CO2 I read this in a school science site. To make cheap CO2 use vinegar and egg shells. Crush egg shells and put in a plastic container, then pour vinegar over egg shells. I took a one gallon water jug, drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the top and plugged one end of 1/8 inch black tubing. Then stuck holes along the tubing for the gas to escape. Hang tubing near the top of plants, since gas is heavy. Easy and cheap. Replace vinegar when mixture stops bubbling. Rating: 5
