Penguin, you are still wrong about so much. A true democracy could NEVER work in America. Let me correct your facts a bit. Greece was never a democracy because ancient Greece was a never a fully unified country (minus the reign of Phillip and Alexander of Macedon). It was a collection of warring city-states, one of them (Athens) happened to be a democracy but it only worked because it was an isolated area. Also, the Athenian democracy only allowed men to serve and was not as random as you claim it to be. The purpose of the Athenian Democracy was to get as much people involved with the polis as possible. I will not detail how the whole thing worked, because it would take forever, but I will explain why this won't work in America.

The geographical size of America does not favor a true democracy. We can not move a certain number of people from each district to Washington for a month to deliberate on the issues of the day. It would be an orginizational nightmare and nothing would get done. If we had a system where everyone voted electronically, the system would be open to much more corruption then it is now. Sorry, a democratic republic is the best idea for a big country with a diverse background.

I can see why people have mentioned your age, because your worldview is soo narrow and uninformed. Look, I think it is shitty that people go hungry and uneducated in this country, but I don't spend my time bitching. Get off your fucking ass, get yourself educated, and go do something about it. I can see why liberalism is soo fucking dirty in this country, because it seems to be a copout to bitch about the system. You want to fix the system, why not write a letter to your Congressman, volunteer at a foodbank, or tutor inner-city kids in elementry school? You might not have the power to change the enitre government in one day, but you can atleast help people who are less fortunate than you.
