Iraq: Oil Ministry warns Western Oilsands

An Oil Ministry source says the Ministry has warned Western Oilsands of Canada against ignoring the central government in Baghdad and going ahead with its exploration contract with the Kurdish government in northern Iraq. According to this source, acting Oil Minister Hashem Al-Hashemi is preparing to advise the government to punish any foreign company trying to bypass the Oil Ministry. Det Norske Oljeselskap (DNO) of Norway, Petoil and General Energy, both of Turkey, Woodside of Australia and Heritage Oil of Canada, all have oil interests in Kurdistan in northern Iraq.

If the U.S. invaded Iraq for the oil, why don't I see any U.S. oil companies in this list???

Because the war for oil argument is a farce. lol As is the imperialist argument. There is no evidence to support either claim.

So why are we over there? To free the people? I don't remember that being mentioned until people started talking about the complete lack of WMD's Iraq supposedly had. Our government inflated WMD threat of Iraq. If Bush actually listened to the evidence (or lack of) we would have had no reason to invade. He wanted the war. He said He was the "War president" before 911. I also remember them trying to tell us Saddam was trying to acquire enriched uranium when they had reports that he had no such intentions. The whole war seems nothing more then a political tool to give the government more power over the people. Look at all the privacy infringements they've passed. War on terrorism my ass.

By the way, how is invading another country by force, distroying their political system. and installing a different government simular to ours with heavy U.S. infulance not a show of imperialism? If terrorist type group won the elections there do you think we would allow them to govren?

Whether or not we did invade them for oil, this article proves nothing. It's only talking about oil companies with interests in only the Northern part of Iraq. There is definitely oil in the southern and central areas as well.

No, he is not a "pigglet". Pigglet is too cute to be equated with myth1184. Too bad 'cause then we could ban his ass for being pork just like the muslims have done to Pigglet in UK.

However, there are those of us, including me, who swear he is a cop and he has yet to prove us wrong. All you need for your own proof is to look at all his other posts. They reek of PIG!!! Hopefully, the moderators will ban his pork fat ass soon.
