Oh man, you know how quickly I'd die? I think the only way you can really live is by having followers or isolating yourself. I mean, in all reality, life would go back to the way it was in medieval times. Gangs would form and would become their own nations. Eventually, one person would conquer these nations and create a bigger nation, just like what always happens in history.

Seriously, I was brought up sheltered in a burb. Luckily I married a guy who can do anything and was brought up on a farm. I would be terrified but we'd survive.

Dude, you remind me of some punk who came back from Vietnam who wanted to live in the bush forever. His name was Mike Bishop and he put a gun to his head one year after his return because he couldn't deal with non-chaotic reality. He also made up these same fantasy scenarios and dreamed of himself holding back the army single handed. Again, I say you're making this scenario fit your little fantasy. You make assumptions that you are the only one left with the means to survive. I say you'll be dead before you ever reach your hideout. Anyone with you will soon learn that you're self centered, ignorant, narrow minded and unable to adjust to your surroundings like you've already admited and soon they will put you out of their misery. You're a poor military leader and an even worse sole survivor. You've thought this through but only in the scenario you created. Chaos is about unpredictable changes outside your control and you are suggesting you're ready to deal with it competantly. I can only laugh at your stupidity and ignorance, not to mention your narrow minded vision of the others who will survive. You lack the ability to adjust and follow scenarios that skew from your already predetermined outcome. You also focus on the government's flaws linking them to your own discontent with the world. You also mentioned that the government can't control it all...well you're right, the government can't control everything. But nowhere did I mention the government doing squat so I don't know where or why you grasped for that one. If you were to examine my life you would see that it isnt that bad of a life and i have been blessed to be able to be raised in a middle class family in a safe neighboorhood and have more opportunities than most people and have parents that worked hard for me. You act like im totally obilvious to what i have in life(when you have no clue about it) or that i dont appreciate it when i do but i am just not satisfied with what most people are satisfied with. What is dubbed a normal life i could never be satisfied with. The hate part that isnt normal for my circumstances and i dont know why i hate life so much but people like you sure as fuck dont make it better. Life may seem like a bore to you right now but trust me, it's NOT life that's boring you, it's your routine. Life is a gift to be treasured, you only have one chance at this thing(depending on spiritual beliefs) , so break out of your routine, find something that you love and makes life worthwhile for you, Seize the fucking day man!!!

I dunno, its beyond me, ive been trying to figure that out for since i was oh about 15 so thats like comin up on 6 years now. When you say something like this you are preaching to the choir buddy. Believe me i understand and appreciate that you are trying to give words of hope and what not but why do you think that everyone has the same views on life. Why do you think your view on life is right?? You know all this from YOUR life, please dont speak for others like myself. My routine is normal in societies eyes, i have a good job, i have my own place, i have a newly started relationship, i have a loving family, i have good friends. Technically people would kill to have a life like mine but its beyond me why i am not satisfied with it. It might be that i see the human race as something so much more than it is right now, i look around and i see what we as a race have accomplished and i see so much more potential in you me and everyone but there is just something blocking us from achieving that next step. Our technology advances by the day but we as a people cant seem to figure out how to live with each other normally. To me it seems the government plays a role in this. This is what i get stuck on when i break it down, If i think about it, it blows up out of proportion and i cant look past it. This is what thrives my anger, this is what makes me want chaos to break out. It may not make sense or be a rational thought but it is what it is. I guess i myself kinda blew the chaos scenario out of proportion but like i said its all an idea and it was a plan

The tv show "Survivor",gives us a hint of how ill-prepared most Americans are when providing the the 3 basic tenets of any survival situaton,that being water,food and shelter.

I moved away from the city to avoid the desperate folks that would be there if the food supply broke down,most grocery stores only have 2-4 days worth of groceries on hand and they'd quickly run out of food and water in such a situation. Most of my neighbors are country folks that are pretty well prepared and we'd look out for each other,rather than raiding each other's supplies,most are skilled hunters and there's plenty of wildlife out here,that probably wouldn't be affected that much-unless there was radioactive fall-out coming down. There's plenty of water and firewood,out here in the boonies and most of us know how to start a fire and maintain it. I'm also pretty certain,that there are some out here who have ammo reloaders and a supply of bullets,powder,casings and primers. I do wish that I had a bigger supply of ammo and shame on me-I ain't got any water stockpiled.

Survival..can be as simple as ya can make it-or complicated..I suggest the simple route..lol. The K.I.S.S. principal,goes a long ways in a survival situation. We should all have at least 3 different ways of starting a fire,and practice using them all. We should learn how to build an effective shelter as well,if needed and certainly hunting and fishing skills are a plus,as well as snare and trap-making.

Chances are though,we ain't looking at an apocalyptic situation..we'd have to git nuked by russia or china,for that to happen and public order would most likely be restored pretty soon..one way or another.
