I don't get why in response to 9/11 we have to have so many of our civil liberties infringed upon to combat terrorism. According to whistleblowers in the FBI, they weren't doing the job with the authorities they had prior to 9/11 (http://archives.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLI...terror.lapses). If the feds would just wake the fuck up and do the job they are supposed to do instead of chasing down Canadians like Marc Emery we wouldn't need the Patriot Act. I am by no means a conspiracy theorist or anti-American, but this administration seems bent on pushing the limits of executive power and federal government intrusion in to the lives of all Americans.

It seems like someone in the Democratic party would be able to step up & show the charade for what it is, but they all seem fucking impotent. I'm disgusted every weekend I tune in to the news shows and here the Democratic leadership argue valid points with only, the Bush administration fucked up. I mean seriously, there are only a handful of people with the brains & balls to stand up but the rest of the party leaves them hanging. It's no wonder a majority of the people in this country don't vote. The majority of the leaders are corrupt or stupid or both
