    Flowering with a MH

I know you can, but what are the differences between this and hps, i know there are some but i dont know the specifics. Im flowering with a Sunmaster MH bulb which says because of its red spectrum properties its good for flowering too.

metal halides emit more of a blue spectrum of light, the wave lenghts are shorter) HPS emit a more red spectrum( it all has to do with a metering system called Kevin) during the fall months, the sun is lower and emits a SLIGHTLY different spectrum than when in the summer time.. in my opinion, metal halides are the best way to go...K.

    Flowering with a MH

I see grow rooms here and there with both a blue and red light under the same hood, and I've read a lot about folks who swear by the addition of red to the flowering light spectrum. I have gotten clones from some of these rooms over the years, too. Myself, I use a blue 400wMH only. Generally it's good for finishing buds as well as vegging. But sometimes I can't approach the results of these dual-bulbed rooms, even though we're growing the same clones and I think my general growing techniques are better.

I wonder sometimes though if a bit of red might help finish buds on some of the more stubborn strains I've run into. Using MH only for lots of years, I've noticed that strains with wider leaves and a tendancy to go purple in cool weather (indicas maybe?) finish better in my grow environment than narrower leaved (sativa?) strains, even though I jonesed the narrow-leaved clones because they were kick-butt budd. Go figure.

what i have found is, with runing both is the bud that is under the MH is a little loser then the ones under the HPS. I use 4 lights 2 HPS & 2 MH @ the same time. 400 Watts. ea.
