In my experience the people who talk the most shit about cops would be the first to call them if someone stole their car or broke into their house. I used to talk shit about cops too. Story time.

A while back when I was still in highschool I was blazing outside, and I got busted by a cop. Now, I had a good amount of weed on me, a switchblade in my pocket, and apple sacks in my backpack. The cop searched me, handcuffed me and made me lie down on the ground. He goes back to his squad car for a good 15 minutes (meanwhile I'm shitting bricks), comes back, uncuffs me, gives me all of my shit back (including the switchblade) and sits me down. He tells me how he was looking for meth, so he wasn't going to bring me in. Now, this is the kicker:

He then tells me that the average marijuana smoker wastes 2000 dollars a year on weed, and that I should grow it myself so I can save money, and that way keep it out of the police department's hair. He instructs me not to move from where I'm sitting until I can't see his squad car anymore, and then gets up, and leaves. I'm not shitting you, this is exactly what this cop does.

Sure, some see that as a dick thing to say. Some think that I got lucky. Either way, I was doing something illegal, and I should have been punished for it. It wasn't the cop's fault weed is illegal, but he was nice enough to not bring me in, probably because I was a kid.

Not all cops are evil. Most are just trying to do their job. After years of only seeing the bad side of life, it's understandable that some cops can become dicks. Not all of them are, though.
