My ex-wife had a problem with alcohol consumption that resulted in me having to defend myself from her,many times. I never hit her back and when she was lucky enough to git a blow through,it was not enough reason to hit her back. However,one day,when she was trying to kick me out,and as I was packing my suitcase,she snuck up from behind me and wrapped a bath robe sash around my neck and proceeded to choke the life out of me,when I started to see snow,I ripped the sash from around my neck and I was very tempted to hit her..instead,I resolved to leave her-which I did. I didn't call the cops on her,which I could have done. I didn't want my daughter to see her mother gittin arrested and it was time to simply git out the dysfunctional situation.

It's been 11 years since that day and she now realizes just how horrible she was acting and is very sorry for it..I'm so glad that she came to this realization on her own and today we got along just fine. Now..praise the Lord,my daughter is living with her and they are gittin to make up for all of the lost years that they missed and I pray that they build a good bond between each other and heal their relationship.

The moral of this story is,that one should not surrender to their emotions and resort to violence as a solution..we are each responsible for every choice we make and we each have the ability to choose how we will react to any given situation. I knew then,that violence would not be a healing force,but rather by not burnin that bridge,I left the path open for healing.
