It is an American's duty as an American (yes Europeans this is about America, and you should in fact be glad about that) to vote and have an opinion on ALL issues otherwise democracy can't work correctly (I guess this is a contradiction because we're a republic, but anyways).
Therefore, one should assume that if an American resident claimed to be patriotic, that person would have an opinion on topics like drugs, but assuming things can lead to trouble.
Either it's just because I'm in highschool and people don't give a shit about anything until they have a real job, or that assumation is completely incorrect and therefore these so called Americans are hypocritical as they really don't care.
Which one is it? I hate being in school because I have a skewed perspective on what others think; so could a few people in the real world tell me what others think? Do they really not care abuot anything that doesn't directly affect them (or even things that do like gasoline prices) even though it's in the best interest of democracy to do so? or am I just anti-so-called-American because I'm in school.
