You didn't freak out because of the Acid being any stronger or different then natural shit, you freaked out because you're an idiot... and that factored into your trip somehow. Took too much and didn't research what you were getting into and probably, you're not as ready for these drugs as you think you are.

Anybody that is considering taking the more powerful psychedelics should, at the very least, read The LSD Handbook (D.B. Blewett, Ph.D./N. Chwelos, M.D.) 1959, and The Psychedelic Experience (Timothy Leary et al) 1964. Even if you do not plan to follow the directions of these manuals to the letter, they impart good philosophies about using and finding appropriate, safe, and productive methods of tripping. Although I have done it, it's not a good idea to go outside until you really understand what you're doing. Staying home eliminates many risks that could potentially lead to some serious problems. I found that it was MUCH better to do it at home, or at least indoors at a friend's place.

For those with enough knowledge and experience to handle it, and would like to safely spend some time outdoors, doing some in the "country" minimizes risks - and nature is very beautiful to behold under these circumstances.

Dude, I had taken acid 50 times before that, in 50 different settings. Lot of them were outside. It was just some shit that happened. That is why you have to be careful with. You can examine a hit of acid for hours and never know how strong it is.
