I totally agree, whenever anyone asks me about mine, and says they want one too, I always tell them to find a design that means something to them first and then go to get the tat. Not go to the shop and find a design. It's like, how many girls have the same little rose or butterfly? Baaaa

It's just as important to find the right tattooist as there are some tattooists that specialise in certain things.

I love this thread! I'm older and feel like tatoos are too youthful (silly huh) but hold on, I got pierced instead and really love it. So far navel and nipples. Can I show a picture, or is that dirty. I think they look they look cute and sexy so not dirty, but what do i know??? Some one respond with an answer. Also what do i pierce next? I'm ready and waiting....

As for piercings i'm not really into them and even though I'm sure some guys would love to see your pierced nipples I don't think this is the right place to show them.

Why thank you for the compliment. No, I did not design this one myself. I had waited many years trying to figure out what I would like to have on my back as I think that to be one of the more important places to get work done.
I ran across the design in an art gallery as a painting here in La Jolla many years ago and it haunted me for too long. The haunting went away when it was finished.
It eventually was done by my "mentor" in Germany.
There are others that I have that I designed and if I find the pictures I will see if I can post them.
There are a few that I am proud of if I have to say so myself. :smokin:

Yeah, I suppose the back is most important since it is the largest "canvas" you have to work with that is uninterupted. You have to make it count.

Would be great to see some of your other work, hope you are able to post them soon.

I have a butterfly on my left shoulder blade. I got it right before I left my X ( flew away , like a butterfly).He was a loser , a friend of his was a tattoo artist and he did it for free Little did my X know ,I was leaving him. Now i want A tat with 3 Hearts with My 3 sons Initials in each 1 of them. Three in a row, down. I would love to get that. :thumbsup: :stoned:
