Leaves Curling??
One of my plants went slightly pale, and started curling.. Within an hr, a second plant started to curl.. Now I got 2 plants that ar curling, and I don't kno why..
I gave them a bit of nutrients for day 7, only a slight amount of root growth stuff.. and added a 65w neonidyum light.. 3 hrs after the new changes, I went to check on the status of the plants, they continued to curl (a 3rd plant began to curl..) . I checked the position of the 65w neonydium, and nearly burnt my hand. So now, i'm to assume I was scorching the plants.. So i switched the bulb with a 26w CFL.
can anyone help me?? zandor??sheist Reviewed by sheist on . Leaves Curling?? One of my plants went slightly pale, and started curling.. Within an hr, a second plant started to curl.. Leaves Curling??
The soil looks dense could be lack of O2 to the roots. That would be the yellowing. Nutes and wet gives low ph which causes yellowing. The curling of the first two leaves is pretty normal. Let her dry out a bit.
"Full spectrum light bulbs use a rare earth element called neodymium which absorbs the yellow spectrum from the visible light. Neodymium light bulbs enhance the blues and reds and cause colors to appear more vibrant. Ordinary light bulbs produce a harsh unnatural light that can contribute to glare and eye strain, but neodymium bulbs simulate full spectrum light similar to true daylight." http://www.lighttherapyproducts.com/products_bulbs.html
approximately 4200°K and 4700°K http://www.budgetlighting.com/chroma...ium_bulbs.html
3000000/4250=674 Nanometers (but that is only a average and does not mean to much with out the intencities to average of blue, yellow and red.
Orange=669Nm
Red=723Nm

9 times out of ten leaf curl is from overwatering and in your case, i'd assume it just because you're already giving your just-sprouted seedlings ferts! don't do that...they don't need any for 1st few weeks when using fresh potting soil. drainage is a must as they don't like EVER being soaked and should only be kept moist and slightly dry between the mistings (misting doesn't disturb young roots like regular waterings do). if i were you i'd get a few backups going asap...
lighten up on the love and affection and they should be fine

I figured that my little nute mix would've held them off for a long while with oxy supply, probably miscalculated..

these are the type of plants that thrive on being somewhat neglected...too much love is the number one cause of death for new growers.
you'll find the balance but in the meantime, keep planting seeds. and don't try bending, fixing or experimenting with "the book" (and 1st rule in 'the book' is Keep It Simple Stoner or k.i.s.s.). pick the method that fits with your equipment and just follow what others have done and you'll get a harvest much quicker than trying this or that because an idea pops into your head. there's plenty of time for experimenting later.
