I dunno if anyone is a Terrence Mckenna fan but those who are do you know what hes talking about here? Is this what the mushrooms told him?

Few such species are minded, only myself and my recently evolved near relatives have achieved the hyper-communication mode and memory capacity that makes us leading members in the community of galactic intelligence. How the hypercommunication mode operates is a secret which will not be lightly given to man. But the means should be obvious: it is the occurrence of psilocybin and psilocin in the biosynthetic pathways of my living body that opens for me and my symbiots the vision screens to many worlds. You as an individual and man as a species are on the brink of the formation of a symbiotic relationship with my genetic material that will eventually carry humanity and earth into the galactic mainstream of the higher civilizations.

well i read it in terrence mckennas book on growing magic mushrooms and i found it on www.deoxy.org and i wanted to know if it was something the mushrooms told mckenna, whoever said it is talking about mushrooms

I don't think that it's possible to totally understand him - it's just food for thought.

I think that he was onto some metaphysical concepts that are beyond the ability of human languages to communicate. The best that I've been able to do is fathom that there are other "dimensions" that are within our reach with mushrooms, DMT, and other substances. Even Terrence's brother, Dennis McKenna, an accomplished chemist, was skeptical of many his brother's theories and beliefs. Terrence believed that the "elves" that he communicated with while on DMT actually existed.

Getting back to your question, he wrote those words himself based on his own interpretation of what the mushroom "told" him. I guess you could say that he believed he was being "guided" by whomever, or whatever, he met up with when the shrooms took full effect. The phenomenon that he describes having was obtained through extremly large doses and, I'm sure, much meditation and preparation.

Even heavy-tripping people like Timothy Leary were very impressed with McKenna's accomplishments.

Thanks for clearing that up, thats what i thought, yeah he was a space cadet but a genius at that guess he was ahead of his time either that or he was a few screws short. I thought it was pretty interesting that his Timewave Zero lined up with the mayan calender which is supposedly the most accurate calender to date
