Teacher vs. Me in school today i got into a heated arugment for 1:30 minutes which is the whole period and the whole class got into the discussion as well all because i refused to stand up for the pledge of the allegence. Teacher- mike stand up. Mike- no, i dont have too. Teacher- mike everyone else is so you have too. Mike- no its my constututional right,. *pledge is over we all sit down* Teacher- Why did you refuse to stand up,. Mike- couple reasons i do not believe in god for one and i wasent Rating: 5

O.K. then next time your in an airport start running, and scream "I have a bomb" then do it in a forest- trust me there's a difference.

Yelling "Fire" in a crowded movie house compare to yelling "fire" in your bedroom there's a difference..........

I have to agree. Freedom of speach in America is an illusion. Obviously you cant talk about assassinating a world leader without drawing attention. Or sexually harassing a coworker without getting sued.

But the "Basis of America" is the Constitution.

The Bill of Rights, i guess, would be the "Basis of our Freedoms"

Well, I could care less about screaming " I have a bomb" in an airport or "Fire" at a movie theatre, it's unnecessary. As far as talking about ending the life of a world leader, I have. No body cares. Unless you publish a book about it. Even then. What I mean about freedom of speech being the basis of america, we're the only country with free speech. That's somethin special. No one can take your voice away, and people use their voice to do anything they want, because they can, because it's America.

whether you "could care less about screaming" is moot. The debate was if you could say anything, anywhere. I assume you were talking about EVERYONE, you did state "say anything the hell you want"

What I mean about freedom of speech being the basis of america, we're the only country with free speech. That's somethin special. No one can take your voice away, and people use their voice to do anything they want, because they can, because it's America.

Cue the raising of the Star Spangled Banner, waving, gently in the wind, but even if there was no wind, it would sway, cuz god damnit its free! In the background the grand canyon can be seen, with an american bald eagle, in profile shot. Then as the flag reaches the top, the Eagle flys off with Uncle Sam, like Gandalf the White in lord of the rings.

What is free speech anyway? and why and how is America seperate from any other countries, and the way they run it? they still have the same problems as the poorest, most oppressive countries in the world.

screw you pacifists. i've got a bro in the marines whos taken 2 tours in iraq and fought during the offensive in fallujah. He says that the majority of the troops want to be in iraq and that while there is a minority of iraqis who hate the americans, most of them are friendly and willing to help the coalition. the soldiers you hear on the news complaining about an unjust war and bullshit are usually national guard or reserve troops who just needed a ride through college.
