Well of course it will, but will it kill your liver in the process? The whole point of doing the extraction is to remove the acetaminophen that will cause overdose long before the codeine will. He's doing the right thing.

You likely wouldn't get enough solid to smoke unless you were doing a large batch. You're better off extracting into water and drinking it.
