Can bubble/sparkling water be used as a co2 alternative? Iv hurd that people do this but is it beneficial? Does it really work?

if watering: no i doubt it, plants need oxygen around the roots & co2 for photosynthesis (around the leaves). co2 may rise up through the leaves from the soil, but not nearly enough to make a difference.
if you were to leave the open bottle in the room, it would increase the co2 but still not enough. a lot of people use sugar, yeast & water. as it produces co2 when its fermenting but unless you use loads that doesn't really make much difference either

It would go flat before there was any helpful level of CO² in your room.

You did not say it was a yeast and sugar setup.

Gives off CO2, but I'm not sure how much.

Should be similar to a baking soda vinegar reaction, however less initially intense, but much longer lasting.

Sugar yeast and water
for a set up good for 20 cubic feet use a gallon jug, 3/4ths gallon water, two cups sugar, and a table spoon of active yeast found in the freezer section of the grocery store by the cheese. Mix the yeast in hot water first before you ad it to dissolve it. poke a hole in the top and shake atleast once a day. If you drink alcohol wait two months and enjoy. The ph will drop to a 4.1. You will know when to replace it as the yeast dies when the alcohol reaches a certain level.

i was told 3 times a day in a spray bottle. the leaves pick it up in the air through a fine mist...

They also can get hotspots from water droplets. CO2 is not needed in the dark and who wants to take a plant out of the light for 2 hours a day to dry for a quick does of CO2 that is not effective as they are not getting good light. Will they get co2, sure. Will it be benefical, no.

Application: When your plants (or cuttings) are healthy you can use 1 tablet per 250 liters of water. In hydro systems you can also simply add the tablet to the barrel. Overdosing is neither harmful nor useful.
