    Drying time

How long does it normally take to properly dry and cure buds. Days, weeks, months? And cant you just snip off the buds and dry those instead of the plant as a whole?

I know what you\'re thinking. \"Did he fire six shots or only five?\" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you\'ve got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? - Dirty Harry

Anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. It all depends on conditions!

I'm sorry I can't give you a more straightforward answer. I wish I could say a few days.. hell, it can be but the smoke won't be nearly as good.

Ill try a week of air drying and then a week of curing and then a test. Thats sounds about as good as anything ive read.

Hello Cell I think you've got all the answers you need but I'll just tell you what I know about drying

Trim the buds down and then tie them up in a dark, dry and ventilated place.

How long they take to dry is soley dependant on the conditions they are drying in.

In Summer I dry mine in a wooden shed, which is dark, dry and well ventilated, it's actually perfect for drying in , They usually take a little more than a week.
Afterwards my "curing" consists of just keeping the buds in open paper bags for a week or so ................... to be honest I've never really understood "curing"

Winter grows are different the shed is far too cold then, so I dry them in an old pantry. It's dark and dry but poorly ventilated, they can take about three weeks to dry in there.

What I do with the resinous leaves and small buds, is force dry them.
I just chop them up and put them in a cardboard shoe box, place the box on top of the ballast and leave them there, just turning them over a couple of times a day. These will usually dry in 2 - 4 days, depending on much there is to dry.
I have to warn you though, force dried weed is a very harsh smoke

I think that's all I know ....................... I'll just add an old pic of some buds drying in the shed

Oh one thing I forgot to say ....................... If the drying area is poorly ventilated, be vigilant for any signs of bud rot
