Actually, in the us, it costs us more on average to execute most people than it would to keep them in prison for life, due to appeals. I don't think that someone should be executed unless they are guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, and while this is usually not the case, even though the standard is beyond reasonable doubt, that is the case with Saddam Hussien.

I think the purpose of the death penalty is not really in the punishment of the gulty, but the appeasement of the victims...so, i dunno...
SomeDude Reviewed by SomeDude on . lets see where this gets me okay, so I had a thought...keep in mind this is only my opinion, I have no intention to act on any of this. why is saddam hussein still alive? they caught him, right? why didn't that one guy, that soldier who opened up the hole, just riddle him with bullets for what he'd done to his country? hes pretty much gotten away with it, because everybody has been treating him decently to avoid international human rights issues...even though he may get the death sentence, right now he's reading Rating: 5
