How long do i hand my nugs

Hey, How long should i hang my nugs to dry em...They are not on the plant anymore and have been hanging for a day...I heard you were supose to hang them for like 2-3 weeks but that just seems waaayyy tooo long. Wouldnt they be SUPER dry in 2-3 weeks?
