ozzyoz, wtf are you doing with an expensive guitar and amp if you don't even play yet?

i wouldn't waste time trying to learn to read music notation, improv is more fun and exciting than learning other people's songs.

    Learn
    1) a few basic chords
    2) major and minor scales/ the modes
    3) try starting with a minor pentatonic scale >> sounds cool and is easy, five note sequence of the blues

Unfortunately you need more than a month to get anywhere with it, but if you have nothing else to do now's a good time to start.

One other reccomendation, after u learn a scale or something be sure to practice it blazed, it helps you get over inhibitions and experiment more. I find this helps you learn things faster just by exploring your instrument on your own.

^^^ yes I agree, once you develop the strength in your finger they are the easiest to transition from one to the next b/c they all are so similar in structure.
