2,how long do i leave them on a 18/6 light cycle b4 putting them on a 12/12

3,ive just ordered a nutrient meter,how do i use it with vita gro nutrients?

i grow with hydroponics/rockwool

hope u guys can help me cos this is all new 2 me,cheers guys

i can answer some of your questions.

is yor electric meter a pay as you go type, if so you dont get as much leccy for your money. also the tariff of your meter may be set on high to pay for shortfalls on bills to that property. speak to your electric supplier to find this out.
if none of the above applies just live with it baby, it shouldnt cost more than a quid or 2 per week.....i take it your in uk with a name like scousa.. so am i and my light never broke the bank.


from the day your plant pops out into the world give it anywhere from 4 weeks to 8 weeks before changeing to 12/12. it depends on how big you can allow your plants to grow..

I try to keep mature plants at 24" or less ,to make better use of the lighting,depending on the strain,i induce photperiod at about 6-8",I veg at 24HRs,I dont use 18-6 because it promotes internonodal stretching,I prefer short squat bushy plants,a 400WT lamp will only penetrate about 6",so the taller the plant ,the light to surface ratio decreases,giving you a smaller harvest for the longer growth period,as for the pH,start at 5.5,and do not let it go over 5.8,the pH will rise as the plants feed ,so just maintain at 5.8 or slightly under till the next res change,use a pH down solution for this,using nutes to lower the pH can cause an overfert,an EC meter can help too,though i dont use one,i can pretty much tell what the plants need by observing them,but i've been at it a while....bonbon http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3127.html

nice 1 bonbon,ive had my lamp about 20" away from plants but i thought that was fine because they r growing thick and short and if they dont get enough light they stretch, ill sort it out now.
