I just posted the thread "Weed and Pills", explaining MAOI's affects on smoking Weed.

I went to the active ingredient 'Salvinorin A' and the first thing I saw was Salvia & MAOI's.

Boosting Salvia with MAOI's

I have had good experiences smoking 50-75mg of harmala extract (standard Syrian Rue acid/base technique) prior to smoking Salvia. It definitely boosted it by 2X and extended the later stages of the zone for me. I also noticed that my body relaxed into it and was more allowing of her grace with the tranquilizing effect of the harmala. Good mix for sure... ~1997

[Author's Note 2002: Looking back on this, I would describe it now with the term "synergistic", rather than "boost" or "potentiate". While the effects of the salvia felt stronger than salvia alone, changing the experience and extending it, I would not say that it simply 'boosted' the effects.]

but i read erowid alot, and im highly fascinated by salvia, all hallucinogens infact. and salvia, dmt, 5-methoxy even lsd are are really serious shit, at least, they seem so to me. im the kind of dude who likes to know exactly how what im taking is workin... so its no surprise i knew that

im glad to see that there is someone that shares an enthusiasm for hallucinogens as much as i do, ive tried acid, salvia, weed, most kinds of pills (pain killers), LSA, mushrooms. i havent done mescalin which is one of that last drugs i wanna try. so far salvia is the most powerful drug on earth as far as im concerned. 40X is an experience in which time stops, reality is no longer tangable and meaning is much much more. i think on some plane of existance what we see on salvia is real otherwise why would we see it, my theory is that savinorin-a actually changes the patterns on neurons that make up memory, conscious thought and everything we call being alive. salvia acts like a reset button on certain aspects of human psychology. also ive gotten a few flashback type effects from salvia and have heard of other people feeling the same thing so we can be sure that salvia has some lasting effects, i really wish that someone could run some experiments on salvia and the brain, its still unclear as to what makes it hallucinogenic as well.
