    Cuttings and nutrients

Hi, I'm gonna need to ask for help. This is my first time using cuttings and they're leaves are begininning to curl down and they're starting to droop. My ph meter broke so they've been getting pH 7.2 water with no ferts. My new one's here today so im gunno wash them with pH 5.5 water.

My question... what EC do people feed their cuttings on? I assume they need nutes straight away as they do not have the energy store of starch in the seed like seedlings do but likewise I dont wanna burn and kill them.

Also I've not had the leaves curling down since my soil days with no pH meter. Anyone know a quick diagnosis?

    Thanks for your help!

let it dry is usually what it needs. a plant needs roots to uptake fertilizer. once your cutting has roots I would use a EC of .0625 which is 43.75ppm and 87.5 microsiemens. double that when you transplant. I stay at that level through flowering.

    One love

Unfortunately, I use tap water. Don't have room for an RO system, my base EC is 0.4 so thats the lowest it can be. The rockwool is allowed to dry out each day as it is

tap water is fine for clones...ph doesn't really matter until they need to uptake nutrients for vegetation...any clean water will do. What method are you using? 1-2 drops of superthrive or Liquid karma is best

I have used botanicare cloning product's, with good success.

some people go with 1/4 strength nutes, some swear against any nutes.

Greatest success is achieved using some type of rooting hormone/gel or Pro cloning solution...goodluck, I will check back to see if you have any question's.lw

MY bottle of superthrive has gone all gooey so I threw that out.
I'm just feeding them on water at the mo but it's been a week with no nutes. The plants were just cut at the internode, dipped in rooting powder and shoved in rockwool.
