Tattoos are suppose to represent individuality, and you want to get one of a communist symbol? They are complete opposites.

I take it you have not seriously studied communist theory. Communism is "a conjectured future classless, stateless social organization based upon common ownership of the means of production". Communism, if it actually existed anywhere, would recognize and celebrate each person's individuality, rather than turning people into a bunch of Nike-wearing, Coke-drinking automatons slaving away their lives for the profit of an elite few.

Not that any country using the hammer and sickle got anywhere close to communism, nor did they claim to, since communism is by definition a system with no government. The reason the USSR and other "socialist" governments failed has nothing to do with any inherent problems in communism but rather is the result of a false assumption made by Marxists: Marx assumed that after socialism were instituted, the state would eventually "wither away". However, it's clear from history however that "socialist" leaders are just as unwilling to give up power as capitalist leaders are, and they tend to just appropriate the means of production for themselves instead of letting them be run by the people. If anything actually resembling communism actually came to be, the government would have to be abolished right off the bat, such as happened in Catalonia in the 1930s for example.

I wouldn't get the tattoo myself since I'm not a Marxist or a Leninist, but if you think it really represents you, go ahead and get it. Just be really sure that you are a Marxist-Leninist and you plan to stay that way.

^^ Someone knows what they're talking about (nice sig by the way). What would you do if you got your hammer and sickle and then decided that consumer-driven capitalism was the answer to all mans problems? I know that's a huge swing in opinion but it could happen.

Not the tattoo I'd get to be honest, maybe the anarcho-syndicists flag for me. I'd probably never get a tattoo that represented political feelings though, opinions change.

Looks like your sickle is dove-looking...which would be good...peace, etc. Also, I don't think it would bother me as long as you didn't try cramming communist theory down everyone's throat! lol
