Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite band of all time, along with ACDC. But I was never a fan of Freebird, I feel it is overrated. I like Simple Man, Whiskey Rock and Roller, and On the Hunt much better. But as far as bands go, I say the best are ACDC, Skynyrd, and Zeppelin.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Rolling Stones, they are definitely on the list

Considering when Free Bird was released, it was pretty good. Though most long songs are overrated, I still think Stairway to Heaven is much more overrated. In the late 60's most bands weren't just Classic Rock n' Roll bands: they were all psychedealic or some other gimmick, and Skynyrd was a fresh new sound. Though I love Free Bird, I also love songs that showed Skynyrd was more than just Southern rockers like Thing Goin' On, Tuesday's Gone, Blues Medley, and Gimme Three Steps and Call Me The Breeze.

dude i dont think it is possible to label the greatest rock band ever and it is deffinetly not within the past 10 years haha! iggy and the stooges were great but not the best ever... im thinkin to the punk world really cause rock overall would be too hard for me... the ramones... theres way too many influential bands...
