Exactly. Most weed smokers are really afraid of coming out of the hotbox closet, so they won't make much of an effort to counter the propaganda. If it's ever going to be legalized, we need to band together and undertake a massive propaganda-spreading campaign of our own. This campaign should be based on disseminating three key pieces of information: firstly, that marijuana is not a deadly substance and it's actually much less harmful than alcohol and tobacco; secondly, that it can actually improve the well-being of people with certain diseases; and thirdly, that nobody has the right to dictate to other people what they can and can't do with their own bodies.

We should follow in the footsteps of the gay movement. Not too long ago, gay sex was illegal or at least a serious taboo pretty much everywhere. But as the gays started coming out of the closet, society suddenly realized that gay people were all over the place and the psychological community began to admit that there is no evidence that being gay is a mental disease. Now we are witnessing a radical transformation of attitudes towards gays. It is now legal to have gay sex almost everywhere in the Western world, and even where it's still illegal you're highly unlikely to be punished by the state for it.
