Waiting for that dreaded call
Hey guys, I just took a drug test yesterday morning (Wed. the 8th) and was wondering how long it usually takes for the lab to call you in case of a diluted or failed test?
I drank a lot of gatorade on the day of the test (as well as taking aspirin and vitiman B12), and it's been 2 weeks since I stopped smoking, so I don't think I failed it, but I want to fire up a celebratory bowl and was wondering if doing it on Friday night would be a tad premature?jflory81 Reviewed by jflory81 on . Did YOU pay for the test or was it for a pre-employment test?
My experience was that since my test was a pre-employment test that was paid for by the company, I was not permitted to obtain the results. It had to go directly to them and it was their responsibility to let me know if I passed or failed.

No it was pre-employment, but I would assume that they would be calling me if there was a problem when they got the results.

Also, from what I understand, doesn't the lab call you to re-test if you test "negative, but diluted"?
There's very, very little chance that I tested positive.

I'm not sure on that. I had never taken a drug test before last week and I passed that one.

Out of curiosity, what happens when you DO fail a pre-employment test? Is it just that you don't get the job, or do you get reported as well?
If there's a chance of getting screwed with the law, I would NEVER apply for such a job.

Usually they just have you take the test again (i think). But due to standards i never accept a job if they try to drug test me i simply get too offended to even work there

I already know when I start, but I just didn't want to be a moron and fire one up too early, then get the news that I have to retest due to dilution

You either don't get the job or they have you retest.
