The ever creating creatures...
We are GOD's creating language, moving, making, breaking, taking, baking, faking, mixing, producing, building, fixing physical matter. We do it all, we have the power to make some amazing stuff and create some amazing stuff. You can sit there and say, "Well duh!", but some people don't actual realize how much power we really have. Next time you go to grab a cup and turn on your faucet to get some water realize how much went into this process. We can move are arms in great cordination to do almost whatever we want, it's great. Thinking this way all the time may make small things seem more fun, thoughts?
I hope this wasnt pointless....

The opposable thumb rocks!
You are right though, we are amazing creatures. Because of some tragic flaws humanity has done amazing things.
Flaws like:
1. We recognize our own mortality. No other animal knows that it is born and will die one day. Because we know this, we have invented things that make life easier and safer so we can live longer.
2. We suffer from free will. We have the power to create and destory.

although that may be true humnas have only been around for thousands of years, maybe we should wait until it's in the millions before we pat ourselves on the back... just cause we can pour a glass of water without getting off our ass doesn't mean we're all that great.
If you really want to think about have advanced a species is look at a plant, it'll live longer than us, without ever having to move....

I often here this, and it's presented as indisputable fact by all. but I have to ask, how do we know this? Did we get every species of animal together and ask them if they know about death, and they said "death? never heard of it."?

You know, cats try to mimic their owner's sounds, but, they just can't do it because the human mouth is so amazing.
