Pogmoasal1- only way up north is dark for long periods- something like a month with no sun- here there's a month or so when the sun comes up around 10:00 and goes down around 3:00, and its more like dusk, awesome colors though as the sun skirts the horzion, plus with the darkness comes the northern lights, and you have to see them to really get how great they are- in the summer I need sunglass at 2am and the kids are still playing outside!, its a trip, I think everyone should experience a midnight sun atleast once in thier life-
although last month it was -60 for a couple of days, after that its amazing how "warm" -20 feels
thats why so many people smoke and native families have many childern
