weird dxm effect. anyone else get this?

alright, i've always been a thin guy, i have a fast metabolism. i havent taken dxm for a year or so, but there was almost always this one effect i hadnt read about anywhere...somehow the dxm sort of inflated me. thats right, i would actually look and feel bigger. swollen, maybe? not a big deal, i just noticed it because my proportions were off. my hand was now much bigger and rounded in comparison with my arm... it looked like a child's arm. i looked in the mirror and sure enough, even my face looked fatter. this kind of freaked me out the first time, and i played it off as hallucination...but i realized it was real after it continued for hours after the trip ended, and it happened on several different trips.

it wasn't a bad feeling... on the contrary, my body felt silly. it felt like a fluffy toy or something. i felt like a child.

so...any ideas what may have caused this? am i allergic?(i never had any other allergic reactions) do cough syrups somehow affect breathing? this didn't happen with zicam, so could it have been all that sugar in robo/delsym? can dxm increase your blood pressure?

Well to all you ppl who like ur DXM try this it works fuckin great. Get your favorite Robotussin Max Stength Cough Syrup, now pour it in a cup, then add water (try Brita or bottled water because tap water has chlorine n shit) stir till all the syrup is in the water, now the tricky part, CHUG that mofo down it will taste like pure hell, but alot worst then taking it alone. I was completely fucked and dissasociated from JUST 2 tablespoons and that recomended dosage and I weigh 160lbs. Im guessing it works so well because the DXM ataches to the water molecules then the water carrys it to your braine, cuz I read thats how it works with ampts. So try this method it will fuck you good.

That was a hallucination. On erowid it says those are actually common but I've never had them but I usually mix DXM with a psychadelic and some good bud...

well i tried it a few times from the otc's, and basically i compare it to the really horrible hangover you get after drinking all night at a keg party

Thats crazy that you mention that djaio, beacuse I have a friend who would report the same kind of thing from DXM. This guy never took a lot either, if he did more than about 300mg he would freak out too much and make other people have bad trips. But thats besides the point, what would happen is that he would look in the mirror for a long time and sware that his arms were shrinking or growing or that they had somehow become unproportional...he would sware that his arms were a differnt size for days after tripping. So, you're not alone. If anything, I belive that this is just DXM making you view things in a different perspective, like focusing so much on one part of your body that you notice it differently. I should note that this guy is probably 160 lbs and about 5'9" and would ususally only take between 250-300mb of DXM. I awlays thought it was pretty crazy and that he was imigianing it but now that you mention this mabey its a possible effect.

Yeah those were hullcinations if they werent just felt and seen noticeably different, even though the hullcinations may not be intense lik emorphing and color n pattern changes just seeing something as it isnt is a hullcination so that is what you had. Its nice you get hullcinations I never got any on DXM not even at 700mg and I weigh 125 lbs. I will never go beyond 300mg again though I dont wanna be a statistic .

I know exactly what your experiencing. I've had it too. While on DXM, sometimes i feel stronger thn i really am, and i can pick things up, or lift things with more ease.
