It is a memory that stays with you forever..thats why I really try to tell my g/fs to have a weapon that will kill..not piss a crack/meth head off..if I sound harsh I apologize to you but I firmly believe in using whatever methods available when being attacked...especially if someone were unlucky enough to even get in my home..I will tell whoever it may be even leo if someone makes the mistake of ever attacking me in my home they will not be a need for an ambulance and I mean that! Tasers and pepper spray are useful but I would want to stop the person before I had to come in that kind of close contact with them..but I do have my spray and I pray. And ladies when you are out alone..no matter the area..carry a HOT cup of coffee or liquid (TEA) in your hand and if attacked throw it right in your attackers eyes..try to blind them..because I have learned that much..if they can't see you then you have a chance...and carry your key in between your fingers and jab their eyes if you don't have anything else..right in the eye...there are no "fair fights" these days..do what it takes to live...don't let a punk take your life and/or affect your happy home...sorry Torog about how I feel but its the truth..sorry if it offends you.
    Howdy Shelbay,

You haven't offended me in the slightest,as Buzz says "I'll prolly agree with ya..". You give some good tips in fact-using whatever means is available is a good thing, like keys, hot coffee or a pen or pencil. There's no greater deterrent to crime, than armed citizens willing to kill to defend themselves..because criminals rarely respect or fear laws, but they do know for a fact-that they can't out-run a bullet.

Like you say-blinding the criminal is a good thing and I like yer tip about hot coffee or tea, hitting a person in the nose is another way to blind them,or-if ya kick em in the nuts and they bend over in pain, grab their head and drive yer knee into their nose..then run like heck !

Like you say-there ain't no fair fights anymore..and one should and can,use whatever means is available, although many courts frown if un-equal force is used. Florida has taken a huge step for victim's rights,by saying that one does not have to run away from a confrontation..it'll be interesting to see how the first case of that goes.

Have a good one ! :stoned:

I'm a decent size guy 5'11 180lbs, i go to the gym and have a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, but i still carry my mace of my key ring. I would also suggest that people always pay attention to their surroundings and dont be afraid to ask for an escort to your car, or home. Most taxis here in SF are more than willing to give free rides to people who find themselves in an area where they feel unsafe, or have had another hassle them. Education works just as well, and sometimes even better than selfdefence. Think and be aware. This is America and we are as a nation are very very violent. Once in a while we meet others who wish no one any harm. Be alert. Criminals dont always look like monsters, as our government proves. Nice haircuts, nice clothes, nice cars, well spoken, etc etc are signs of a successful criminal. The nicest people i know wear thriftshop clothing. Go figure.
We also need to keep in mind that humans are part of the animal world. We are predatory in nature and like most other animals we seek the weak ones and those who are the most vulnerable as our vicitms/meals. We are one of the few species on earth that kill for the hell of it. Sad but True.
