would outdoor plants survive without care?
In about 2 weeks I plan on planting about 50 seeds outdoors. They will be planted in massachusetts. The problem is I wont be able to check on them until mid may. Should I even bother planting them late march or just wait to plant them in may. I might even be able to plant them mid april. The seeds will be planted in holes filled with good soil, they will not be started off as seedlings. If I wait until mid may I could start them inside and then transplant them outdoors but would that give enough time to harvest the plants late august / early september? Perhaps I should plant half soon without starting them indoors and half in april/may starting indoors. Any advice?

If you want to harvet in late august most stains will need to be force flowered indoors for two and a half week prior to putting them outdoors.

Sucky plants are better then no plants. There are things you can use such as water crystals to keep the soil moist. Dont use to many though or when they swell it can push your plant up. Rock and roll man just plant alot more to compensate.

Just wait till May to plant. I think its too cold in Mass. to plant in March or April im further south than u and the farmers almanac specifies the begining of May as being the date u r in the clear and dont have to worry about frost. So id say buy some early genetics from somewhere like Reeferman. plant in May and harvest in mid to late september or even earlier depending on the type of plant.

I have nearly 500 bag seeds from all over the north east NJ/NY/MA/Canada. I have a good location to plant them back at my house (right next to a pond but since im in a dorm at college right now I wont be able to care for them much until I get out mid May. I'd like to be able to harvest at least a dry LB or more by the end of August / Early September. Should I add those water crystals and fertilizer when I plant some seeds in a few weeks? If I plant 50 seeds what are my odd's of a few surviving nicely on their own before I can care for them mid May?

why you disregarded my post i dont know look at this

go right ahead and waste your time if you like but i would use this time to prepare the sites u wish to plant at by ammending the existing soil as best as possible. patience is key. besides may is the perfect time to plant in your climate.

and unless they're near a permanent water source or they get rain every 3-4 days you'll just waste your seeds...
