She's ignorant. She really is. She thinks these babies have something simple wrong with them and we're casting them aside.
They're using machines to live for fuck sake.

I always find this debate amazing. "Human compassion" will put down an animal that is in cronic pain, etc., but when it comes to our own relatives....now it's a different story. Hope to hell my kid, parents, have as much compassion for me...if the time comes...as they would for the family pet!

I completely agree.

I think it's important to note that the parenst aren't much involved in this case. The doctors make the call. At least, that's the way I understand their law.
Personally, I have no desire whatsoever to be hooked to a machine. While I believe it's wrong to play God by taking life through euthanasia, I also believe it's wrong to artificially extend it.

I didn't read through the whole post, but what's the problem? Isn't infant euthanasia this just a function of absolute liberalism? What's the difference with this and scraping uteri? The end is the same, so what?
Sorry, I just get a little irritated that some people are so wishy-washy in their views. Some praise Holland for their liberal attitudes toward mind-altering substances, but when it comes to killing babies everything is suddenly not as cool.

At first glance, yes! But both are attitudes of absolutist liberalism, are they not? So in this case, it is wholly relevant to compare these subjects.
