This picture http://boards.cannabis.com/attachmen...1&d=1139787360 is perfect as it contains all the traits that I use to spot good weed. Look for those little crystals, and any red/orange hairs. The more of these two things that your bud has, the better it is. Also check the smell, as bud with really strange/pungent odors is usually very good.

Tip of north-western Indiana, in my area prices usually around, just by what i've expirenced:

28g = 90-100$
14g = 40-50$
7g = 20-25$
2.5-3.5g = 10$ (I usually get about 3.0-3.5, rare 2.5) varies dealer to dealer
1.0-2g = 5$ (tend to always get about 1.5-2)

the weed around here hasn't been that bad at all lately, I bought an ounce and it was some good stuff, IMHO.

this is just me though, i'm pretty much friend's with everyone so i'm not sure if that has changed what I got, though I do know sometimes when my main dealer get's "fluffy" weed, he sometimes just eyes it and he can get away with making a dime almost close to 2g, so sometimes I wish I had a scale to make sure im not getting ripped lol , but yeah like i've read before, it tends to be best to buy 7g and above. If your looking to get dro around here, i've been told its double regular the price your buying, so 7g be about 40-60 dollars, rest of that stronger stuff, I have no clue, I was told before I could get some blueberry for 35 an eighth, and good weed usually doesn't get sold under an eighth to over here.
