It doesn't have to be long I've seen more smaller steam rollers that are the size of a normal pipe.

yea they don't have to be long.. but the shorter they are the bigger around they have to be to work... a friend of my brothers had one she made it was like a 6 inch around peice of clear pipe and it was about 4 inches long, of course there was modifications made to it so that it could actually be hit... on both sides there was tape closing off most of the ends.. like on both ends there was only this 2x2 inch square that was actually open.. they're just easier (and more choking) the longer they are.. mines about 1 1/2 - 2 inch diameter and about 16 inches long.. it was an old vacuum cleaner hose, well not hose, it was a realllly old vacuum cleaner, back when they actually made the 'solid' extensions for the house out of metal
