Hello neighbor. I'm sorry to hear about your struggle to find a good job right now. It's tough having to start over after divorce. Been there....don't want to do it again. I wish you the BEST through this time.

You said you have no experience at all? What sort of work have you done? Surely you have done something you could classify as experience.

Also, how old are you? I know that I'm far too old to be doing hard physical labor. Are you still young, strong, and full of energy? Or are you looking for something not quite hard manual labor?

Take care and have a great evening.

DALLAS AREA- Need employment ASAP.. HELP!

I've worked with my grandfather since I was about 17 in his air conditioning business. I helped install a lot of systems, but never worked with the electrical/plumbing side of it. That's why I say mostly general labor. Other than that, I've worked with industrial exhaust systems. Installing them, I mean. I did security for about a year. Non-commision. I'm 23. Still got some energy in me. Though I've had a hernia for about 4-5 years that hasn't been taken care of. I can still do some hard work. I just have to watch myself sometimes.

What you said sounds like a great place to start. If you have any interest in doing A/C work, or any other type of service work, you should consider applying with one of the local companies to train as an apprentice. There are many service industry businesses that would love to have an apprentice to train, who could later become a full time, fully licensed technician.

Do some research in the phone book, on yellowpages.com, and other sources to find local businesses that do work you would like to train to do yourself. You can make decent money as an apprentice, and get invaluable training that would lead to a very lucrative job.

I don't know your financial situation, or your family's situation, but there are several technical schools locally and in Oklahoma that can train you to make a very nice living in the service industry. I know of one that I have personally researched, and it is in a field that is wide open and there is a HUGE demand for trained technicians. That school is very affordable and is only three weeks long to get the basics to help you get a job.

Just the fact that you are a hard worker, willing to follow company guidelines, and eager to provide good service to represent your company in a good light would open doors to you that could lead to a very nice salary and living.

Feel free to email me at my name at hushmail dot com if you are interested. If not, I wish you the best of luck!!! Be sure to keep us posted and let us know if you find a good job.

    Have a great day!

I don't know if you still need a job b/c this thread is kind of old, but have you tried the phone company? If you're interested in either trying sales or becoming an outside technician, I may be able to point you in the right direction. E-mail bigcalhoun at hushmail.com and let's see what we can do.
...I said my piece, so now, I hush.
