Buy some... NOT mirical grow, its got ferts in and is crap for growing. It easy to find soil. If you really cant be arsed to go out then go to a part of your garden where plants are doing REALLY well, dig some soil up from there, and use that, cos you know its good.
I wish I didn\'t flame people and then ask to be banned because I miss this place

i used a bog standard growbag which was about 15 litres it only cost me a quid (£1) then i got some perlite, that stuff is a quid for only 1 litre but is well worth it
this is what i have done i have mixed a 50/50 mix of them both and then planted with that made up mixture, the perlite helps drainage and airation to the roots so is a must really
i will never do a grow without perlite
    cheers hope this helps

    Soil ideas?

Make a search for "DSC" or Deep Soil Culture... a search HERE in these boards... not on gOOgle...

Anyways, the idea was to put an airstone at the bottom of your soil pot... and the soil plants, supposedly, thrived in it.

    That kind of soil idea?

There are two necessary components, Perlite and wormcastings. You can just use those, like a 50/50 mixture, or use 50 percent perlite and a mixture of wormcastings plus other stuff, such as peat or coco coir. You can also mix in natural mineral rocks and all kinds of other organic stuff. If you use a lot of wormcastings you won't have to add any fertilizer for about a month, and when you do add fertilizer you can use something like bat guano. Worm castings won't burn your plants roots like other sources of fertilizer. Bat guano and such things will burn your plants roots if you use too much though, so follow the directions carefully.
