Hey everyone, I was just wondering, what was the point like in those old cartoons or what ever people would drive their cars to the highest hill they could find and just constantly take deep breaths? Do you get high from breathing constantly deeply in high atmospheres or something?

well the air is thinner in higher elevations. If you go up far enough, you can actually pass out. I've never heard of anyone doing it to get fucked up before.

Well...Homer did it on one episode of the Simpsons when Moe wouldnt let him get drunk because of his actions the last time he got too drunk there :P.

If you call cutting off the oxygen to your brain a high, then sure it's one of the best and most effective ones out there :thumbsup: :dance:

When you go up to a high altitude the air is thinner so there is less oxygen. Just walking around can make you out of breath like you just ran a mile. After a while some people will get altitude sickness which makes you nauseous and tired, gives you a headache etc. If you go up too quickly you can also get something called HAPE (high altitude pulmonary edema) which is when your lungs fill up with fluid and you essentially drown. This is what happens to some high altitude mountain climbers.

You don't get high though, not even a little buzz. If you smoke weed at high altitudes, however, you do seem to get a lot higher. Not sure why.

no offense fengzi, but i think you just explained that in what you said about lack of oxygen at higher elevations(not 100% sure, but still quite sure all the same)
