Well I read somewhere that the greener the plant is has determines how much nutes it has in it, and the lighter the green is on the plant the less nutes it has in it...is this true?

The greener a plant is the more cloroplasts it has. Blue light produces cloroplasts and yellow breaks it down so a balance is needed. Cloroplasts are easier to make then breakdown. A balanced diet is important aswell. Nutes do lock up with over fert. so more is not always better. Many nutes also increase the tds and low ph. You can adjust it up but you are adding ions to do so increasing the tds (total disolved solids) the ions you are added can build up in the medium.

the answer to your question is YES...

A very very dark green is a sign of to much nutes...

But a yellow leaf does not mean .. "not enough nutes"
not always.. not even usually...
