    LOVE

    : )
I finished the first grow in september. Got about 2oz of REALLY GOOD stuff under about 225 watts of CFLs. The frat boys at the local college really loved it. I've got another one growing right now and it's the healthiest one yet. Hopefully it will be ready to flower again soon.

Because of the whole overgrow thing I've decided not to post anymore pics of my grow, but it looks just like every other NL plant.

BigBlock, wouldnt u need more than that?? lyk the automatic watering system, the growth ballasts for the plants, bucket for water, water pump, and the nutrients... (at least thats how i'm planing on going about it..

Zandor what do you think of that?? 4 plants growing in a 4 1/4" tall styrofoam cup, with the bottom cut off so that the roots hang below, into/onto a support net, and periodically spraying the roots with water/nutrients.. how far/fast do the roots spread.. I've seen pictures/videos where roots hung from about 5-10 inches from out the rockwool cubes.. how long would it take for that to occur with a styofoam coffee cup of soil..

    lol sorry for the jackmove..

    3.5 lb = 56 oz, $800/56 = $14.29/oz. for Zandor

    $19/2oz = $9.50/oz. for BigBlock

Of course, the capital expenditures will favor Zandor over time, but I'll bet he vegged just a little bit longer. Probably has a better light, too.
But the main dif is between a personal sized grow and a commercial sized grow.

There's no need for a personal hydro grower to spend 800 bucks on setup. Sterilite, air pumps, stones, and tubing are all pretty cheap. PH and TDS meters can be found for as cheap as $20(TDS)-$35(PH). Then you can splurge on some good $10-$15/qt organic nutes.

DWC Bubble "Buckets" can be self-contained and non-recirculating, so no need of water pumps, outside res., etc.

But we've gotten waaaay off the subject....

Hydrophonics was the original subject, but I'm sure all opions on that would sound underwater.

The 2 ounces was due to the lights I am using, NOT what they are growing in. Had I been using a 250 watt HPS, like I will be soon, I would easily get 4-8oz.

None of that is needed. All you're doing is replacing the soil with fertilizer. 5 gallon bucket replaces the pot. Stick some bubbles in there and you're done. No medium needed. No water pumps required. Just top off the water as necessary and change the nutrients every now and then whenever you get around to it.

I use peters 20-20-20 for veg and 10-50-10 for flowering. 1/4 teaspoon per gallon for young plants and 1/2 teaspoon for established plants.
