    !!?!!Cleaning peircings!!?!!

Ok, I have an industrial piercing in my left ear, and I've had it for almost 2 years now. It still hasn't healed properly!!! I do not wanna take it out, but its really starting to piss me off!! I curently clean it with Bactine, is that why its not healing properly? is bactine just agitating it? what should I clean my peircing with so that it will heal fuckin properly???

awe man, i know how that shit goes..

i have 2 piercings in my upper cartilage of left ear... got them around halloween,.. - theyre doin alot better, but still not fully healed...

i think its because i got too lazy and didnt take care of them... but now i put peroxide on them a few times a day, seems to work the best

and i have both my lobes pierced too, i use peroxide on those and they heal right up

You are probably getting an allergic reaction with the metal your using so it's not healing. I would try a different loop with different metal. maybe something thinner.

I had the same problem, I had cartilage piercings, that would not heal. I had them for a year and used the stuff that the piercing place sold me, which didn't help. I used hydrogen peroxide and applied neosporin (which you might want to try) I finally got sick of it and took them out. If I was allergic to the metal they used, I'd try it again w/ hypoallergenic earrings. BUT on other piercings I did myself on the lobe, neosporin worked wonders for me, so you might want to try that. Apply it two or three times a day. Good Luck, I know I was bummed, when I had to take them out. (generic neosporin is also called triple antibiotic ointment)

i don't think you arent supposed to use things like bactine and neosporin on piercings because they are not for puncture wounds. good old fashioned antibacterial soap and water worked fine for me. also, i agree with activedenial on the metal. try something smaller

no no no no do NOT use anything with a high alcohol content. This will serve only to dry up your piercing.

what you need to do is use a saline soak. This is warm water with plain table salt or saline solution mixed in. Soak a cotton pad in the solution and hold it to your ear. The warm water draws the shit out and the salt cleans it and disinfects.

ive got a cartilege piercing stretched to 4mm and my ear would have gone black and fallen off a long time ago if i hadnt been given this advice.

Dynamite has had the only advice that I would follow and I myself have 4 piercings (lobes, cartlidge, and prince albert). The best way is to use a simple salt water solution, warm water and sea salt works best. Then simply soak the whole area for 10 minutes or so. Not only does it feel wonderful on an agitated piercing, but it does wonders for its healing process also...

Take it from a man who healed a cartlidge in 3 months, and a prince albert in 2. It works...
